Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same

death of a friend art

I lost a friend this morning, she left a doting Husband and loving Son.

My Friend and I had over the years not only shared a disability but also our lives, by letter, by phone, but always by smiles.

I remember when her Sister suddenly passed, (Also the same disability) and how she`d make light of the fact her lights would now flash and her Sister was letting her know she was still there.

When she married her Hubby she was so happy over the heart shaped headboard for their first bed, so sweet.

Over the years she`s sent pictures of her Son, so cherished, so loved and she was so proud of him, with every good reason.

My friend smiled, always smiled, her voice lifted in her happiness over the phone. She didn`t deserve the cruel blow her last weeks dealt her, it`s just not fair but she was still upbeat in her last letter to me, despite her Hubby having to type it for her.

She will be chatting away with her Sister now, catching up and still smiling; i`ll miss her.

Goodbyes are not forever
