We were friends.

We were friends.

(For Matthew.)

We were friends, you and I;

not many moons had passed,

memories made us friends.

Tea and biscuits,

                                   lots of chats.

Your ever smiles,

                         and welcomes.

Tears passed for lost friends,

and a shared love of animals.

I wish Id picked up the phone,

asked after your days more;

Spent time chatting with you,

connecting in times apart.

Life gets in the way too often,

in a blink chances are gone.

Memories made us friends,

those never fade,

                             are never lost.

Times pass so fast, too quick;

Now tears pass only for you.

Found `alone` in your flat,

your pets, your friends there.

I will miss you my friend,

Especially your tea and welcomes.
